Join Glasgow Studio Orchestra

New members are always welcome to join Glasgow Studio Orchestra.

We don’t run formal auditions. Instead, we invite prospective members to attend a rehearsal and play with the orchestra. If you enjoy the experience and feel comfortable with the repertoire and pace of rehearsals, you’re very welcome to join us.

We perform a wide range of music from stage and screen. Some of these pieces will be our own arrangements, others will be original film scores, and there may be the occasional classical work. Prospective members should be comfortable with sight-reading at a fairly advanced level, and be prepared to do a bit of home practice on the more demanding sections! Experience of playing as part of a full orchestra or large ensemble (wind band, concert band etc.) is beneficial.

There is a £20 membership subs fee, payable per block of rehearsals/concert(s).

Glasgow Studio Orchestra rehearse on a Wednesday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Cleveden Secondary School in Glasgow.
